Our Story

Welcome to Ritual Spa!
My name is David Massingue, proud, long-time resident of Costa do Sol and co-owner of Ritual Spa,
alongside my partner, Thandie Harris. Our vision for opening Ritual Spa was born out of a deep affection
for relaxing beauty and wellness treatments, and the growing challenge of engaging with these sanity-
saving activities given their high cost and distance from our neighborhood.
As our beloved Maputo has rapidly grown over the past few years, so has the amount of time and stress
required to reach the city center, where day spas and salons abound. As a result, the need for these
types of services on our side of town have become more desirable, however there are no other options
available.
Thandie and I realized we would have to provide the solution to our own dilemma, and here we are!
Opening a spa closer to home not only meets our need for more convenient access to desired spa
services, but also gives us an opportunity to address the disparity of available services for our greater
community as well.
We set out to get up to speed on the current best practices in the beauty and spa industry, select the
best skin care and body products on the market, with proven results, and hire talented and experienced
massage therapists and aestheticians. Now, we are excited to invite our neighbors and you to the urban
oasis we have created at Ritual Spa in Bairro Triunfo. We trust this space will allow all of you to more
easily build a regular routine, or ritual, of self-care into your overall health, beauty and wellness
practice.

 

The Dream
